Say “No Way” to Hay Fever With These 6 Simple and Easy Home Remedies

Its that time of the year for nasal allergies and the constant mad rush to the nearest tissue box. Rather than constantly reaching for pills and nasal sprays, there are much more simple and cheaper methods to allergy relief.

1.Rinse With Saline Before Symptoms Strike

Rinsing your nose daily with a simple saline solution can wash away allergens. In one case study, participant who rinsed their nose twice a day with a saline rinse saw significantly less congestion then those who didn’t.

2.Choose Chicken Over Beef

Little did you know, some of your eating habits may be making you more susceptible to allergies. Changing meals with beef to chicken can help relieve some of your allergy symptoms. This is because beef is high in trans oleic acids, which is a form of monounsaturated fat found in beef and dairy. These acids can make you 5x more susceptible to hay fever.

3.Never Leave the House Without a Wide Brim Hat and Sunglasses

For the Ladies a wide brim hat will keep pollen out of your face, eyes and nose. And for both Men and Women sunglasses can help shield your eyes from pollen. Both of these methods can help create a small barrier and help relieve you of some of your allergy symptoms.

4.Move Outdoor Workouts to Dusk

This can be a simple yet effective way to help calm your allergy symptoms. Trees release pollen at first light, or early in the morning, and ragweed pollen tends to fly the heaviest during midday. So moving your outdoor workouts to dusk, after the pollen has settled, can offer some relief.

5.Make Sure Your Home Appliances Have HEPA Filters

High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filters can assist in capturing pollen. Not having a HEPA filter can make allergies worse by stirring up pollen when the appliance are on. HEPA filters in A/C and Heating units can help ease allergies by capturing pollen.

6.Change Car Cabin Air Filter

Changing your car’s cabin air filter yearly can ease allergy symptoms. Old filters can blast pollen in your face.
